An example of scam baiting. The baiter requires the scammer to send photos like this in order to supposedly get money.

Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for Radio Control Helicoptering.

yelp its a big time scam.

My sister in law almost fell for the same thing. She was using my account. If you click the link in the email it will take you to a false Paypal account. and they will get your password. so change it now. I did this and I saw the money there. but log into my real Paypal account and it was not there. I changed the password right then.

Just as many scams coming from our own country right now too. I know of a few people that live near me that got scammed out of a few hundred bucks and didn't know it until it happened. It started buy them applying for a payday loan online. Some took the loan some didn't. The loan companies will sell your account information to anyone that will pay them a buck for it. Once they have your account info, they make 2 debits in the amount of $.01 each, and then a $.05 deposit to test the account. A week later, they make another debit for $20 to $500. Do a search for "ilenderast" and you will find nothing but scam warnings and reports. I get BS emails from fake paypal quite often, the fake ones usually have a very poor copy of the paypal logo, then if your browser diplays links addresses in the address bar when you hold your mouse over them but don't click, they are always way messed up.

The world is yours!

Im not sure of the details... but that email is almost convincing. Did you get that email through a different provider outside your PayPal account? Its a general rule of thumb of mine to never respond to any eMails I receive especially involving any kind of transaction outside the official webpage (account). Its safer to log into your account and do business that way. That's scary if you got that through the official webpage.

Nigerian 419 scams just mutate every now and then. If you've ever followed the blogs of 419 baiters, they are hilarious, as they string along the greedy thieves. One guy even got a scammer to stand in front of a certain building in Amsterdam that had a webcam just to mess with the thief.

a false Paypal account. and they will get your password.
Get a Paypal/Ebay security key fob. It generates random numbers that only paypal can sycronize too, so even if they get your password it won't do any good without that 6 digit security number that changes every 10 seconds or so.
Same number gen works for Ebay or Paypal.

From PayPal:
The PayPal Security Key creates random temporary security codes that help safeguard your PayPal account when you log in. It comes in 2 types, each with different advantages:
Security key: You carry this small credit-card sized device with you. It creates a unique security code on the go.
Mobile phone security key: You can sign up to get security codes sent by text message to your mobile phone.

Update

Check out the latest email correspondence between the scammer and myself. I would think the scammer realizes I know he is a scammer by now.

------------------------------------------

Amanda Hoffman amandahoffman005@gmail.com to me

What is going on with the item now?

Regards.
------------------------------------------

RUDY YEUNG to Amanda

I have never received any email from paypal about the money you sent to me.
------------------------------------------

Amanda Hoffman to me

WHY? BUT PAYPAL SAID THEY HAVE SENT YOU THE CONFIRMATION OF THE PAYMENT I MADE INTO YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT. RESPOND ASAP.
------------------------------------------

RUDY YEUNG to Amanda

I check my email folders and finally find the email about the paypal payment, but the email somehow arrives in the SPAM folder for some reason. Do you have any idea how could that be? Should I contact paypal directly?

Amanda Hoffman amandahoffman005@gmail.com to me

Yes, I was been informed by paypal that they are still waiting for you to reply directly to the confirmation of the payment sent to you. Please do that ASAP and let me know what next to do okay. I made the payment of 950and paypal has deductedthis frommy accoun so I don't want you to delay or wast any more time on this that toget the itemship as soon as possible and pack it very well.

RUDY YEUNG to Amanda

I just call PayPal customer service, and they said they are not able to find the receipt number of the payment you made. They said their computer system is broken down. So, I think you can contact Paypal and ask them to refund you the money and then send me $950 cash, or you can wait for Paypal to fix the issue until they can find the receipt and send me the correct paypal payment mail.

Tell them you are in the hospital asnd will have trouble communicating with them, but if they send you $20 you can get a connection at the hospital and can get this straightened out. If they send you the $20 dollars you will send them $950 to pay them back. (Of course you won't )
Scamming the scammer, even for a small amount, is the winning move.

lol lol lol I like that one.

or I can say, I have a friend going to Nigeria next week. He will do the delivery directly to the given address, and I will take $200 off the original asking price.

but I like yours more. Scamming back the scammer is a good move.
