6s 5000 45C: report

These lipo's are about 4 months old, but have less than 15 flights because of the CC recall (2x). Broken in properly ( in fact damn babied the first 6-7 flights). Puffed within 10 flights. A cell blew out today! I am very surprised it didn't catch on fire it, it litterly blew a hole through the covering. I am going to call them tomorrow and see what they say, but the warrenty is only 90 days. Very disappointing....

On a side note the mate puffs but not nearly as bad, and seems to be going good..

I wrote them a nice letter explaining my situation, I'll pass on the results. I just think it's ridiculous that I spent over 230 bucks and it only lasted about 15 cycles.

UPDATE

Happy to say that they are going to honor the warranty. The new one has already shipped. Kudo's to Voltz. They were very friendly and helpful throughout. Quite a difference between them and Hobby king/city, which I will never use again. I will definitely try the newer 65C's, been hearing some good things about them.

I only have 2 Voltz packs, 6S 5100, 35C, in series as 12C for ENV. Must have done 40+ flights, no trouble at all.

It’s a reoccurring theme with Voltz packs they never reach 50 cycles, loose power in the 15-25 cycle range or puff up.

If you are spending 65C money on Voltz why on earth would you not buy Thunder Power packs for just a few dollars more and you get a 2 year warrantee and 50% crash replacement.

With Voltz you get 60 or 90 day warrantee and good luck wishes… …

I had 4 of the 5100 6S 35C packs when they first came out all four of them never reach 25 cycles before they hit the trash can, not one but all 4 of them. All the guys and gals I know that purchased Voltz last year will touch a Voltz pack ever again that’s how bad they are. Dollar for dollar my hobby king packs have out lasted Voltz packs 10X over, still running strong. Volts packs are the worst Lipos I have ever used to date SAVE YOUR $$$ and buy better packs it’s just that simple.

So how do you account for the fact that I have probably over 50 cycles on a pair of 6S 5100mAh 35C packs with no problems at all? In an ENV.

50/50 crap shoot if you get a good one then you are golden if you get a bad one then you get a sausage that will loose power and puff like crazy.

Seems like there are more bad than good ones.

I'll agree with the 50/50 chance you get a good 1.

I have a good one but my buddies only lasted about 20 flights.

What's your charge rate? Despite what manufactureres say is MAX charge, anything over 1C and you are shortening the life of the pack.

How do you know that?

Got any proof?

Do you really think a manufacturer would tell you how to abuse and kill their product faster by inflating the charge rate?

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

That charge rate stuff is crap I have witnessed personally, 350 cycles between 5c up to 9c on a single 4s 2200mah lipo no issues period.
