I'm considering going FBL using the CGY 750 on one of my older Bergen or X-Cell helis that are of course non CCPM. If anybody has done this I'd like to hear about your experiences, good or bad.

These old machines are too good to throw away and not worth much to sell so I might as well get a few more miles out of them.

Yes, it works. The CGY750 supports 6 different swash plate types. Download the pdf of the manual and you will see this on page 53.

I haven't done it yet, but hope to very soon. I'm waiting on the manufacturer to send me the heli kit.

I won the provisional Class III FBL class at the 2011 US Nats using the 750 in an mCCPM Freya EXII.

The system works well in non eCCPM models. Let me know if you need set up details.

Thanks Dr.Ben

Are there any servos you would recommend for this application. Maybe a first choice if price wasn't a major issue and then a second choice a bit down in cost. I use 6.6V Life (A123) batteries unregulated. This older machine won't be beat on hard at all and also won't flown as much as my front line helis.

Being mCCPM, you'll need servos with some a$$ for the cyclics. I'd use BLS252's or BLS255HV's. 9452's or BLS451's would be OK for less money.

Servo suitability widened a bit, especially when running LiFE packs, with the release of v1.2 firmware's head response parameter.

My EXII has BLS252's in it.
