A moment of silence for Mike Loyd.
Today Mike Loyd lost his struggle to stage 4 cancer. He was a mentor to many people in many ways. Mike was a strong influence to the TORCH's RC community, helping anyone interested in the hobby. Mike and I enjoyed flying Heli's every weekend, meeting new pilots, teaching them to fly, helping with there setup, and most of all the commonrodery. Please remimber Mike and his family in your prayers.

Please visit this post for further informarion regarding a memorial as desired by his family in the near future. God Bless you all for being there for Mike as we will all miss his prescents at the feild.

Hi Mike Jr,
I wanted to express my deepest condolences to you and your family. Your Dad was a friend and teacher at the field to me. I'll always remember his warm and welcoming spirit around the field. Also a very easy guy to talk to. I will surely miss your dad.

Thanks Manny1776, I would like that very much for a Moment of silence and honors to be given at the OHB next week.

It would also be nice if any donations for Mikes wife Diann could be collected at the event for funneral expenses. Michaels Company did not offer a life insurance coverage plan. There are TORCH members that know where michael's house is to drop off any donations or they can be sent to 5627 lunsford Drive, Orland Fl, 32818.

The family has decided to give mike a memorial on his birthday March 24th 2012. Location will be given at a later date.

My God Bless All That Help With This Request.

Mike was such a nice guy and always a pleasure to be around at the field. I hadn't seen him in a while and this news came as a surprise to me. I flew with him at TORCHS and also some renegade flying at Shader road. I remember seeing him fly one of the fastest Alfa Foamie warbirds I've ever seen out there until it ripped the wings off !~! haha. Good times.

I bought his Vario Huey a few years back. He wanted to see it completed and flying and trusted me to get it done. Sadly, life has taken away much of my free time, but the Huey is safely put aside and I will one day finish it in his honor. He did a lot of really nice detail work to it already.

He will be missed. We all lost one of the good ones.

Maybe TORCHS can host a memorial fly-in next March? Maybe even a small scale heli gathering as I know Mike enjoyed the scale helis !!
