Consider: Flying style, what's needed in the Tx. and cost, then buy what's the best for You.

I think he means scale (more channels needed for lights, Landing gear etc) vs pod and boom vs turbine (more channels etc)

Since all Tx need some sort of programming, adaption to the specific model, heli, plank, whatsoever, and all Tx have different styles and/or terms, one advise would be, if there's a club or a flying field around, walk by and check what brand the folks use over there.
It's always helpful to get a Tx and its programming explained by somebody using that brand for quite a while.
Better than reading thru the manual over and over.
I can program Futaba and older Graupner, did some experiments on Multiplex, but certainly I would have some issues and quite a learning curve on JR or Hitec, or Airtronics, 'cause I never touched them.

Thilo
(Happy with my Futaba T9C, if I needed a new Tx, the Futaba T8FG would be my system of choice.)

I want #s. I want to know how many like 1 over the other and why? Telemetry is obviously better than not having it. I would like to see JR with telemetry and I know about the xg8 which BTW the receiver antenna for the xg8 looks identical to futaba receiver antenna's. I think the Futaba 8FG will have telemetry in the future but don't know for sure. I have experience with spektrum and now JR and just want to know if I am missing out on a better Futaba experience? Let's hear it.

They are all good. If you need help with setup, buy what the locals are flying.

I have flown Futaba, JR, and Spektrum. They all worked well, and all have their differences.

Try to put on paper your wants/needs, then see which one fits the bill. If you are a beginner, this list is likely to change quite rapidly! Moral of that story, buy more than you need. Once you have a fleet of models, changing transmitters can be a lot of work.

I guess the real question here is; how do you decide what feels right for yourself without having commit to giving up the $$$$$$ first. That's a tough one. Most people wouldn't just up and buy the first car they see or ask a complete stranger to marry them. You kinda gotta go on a test drive/date first. difficult to do with RC radio's.

Now were getting somewhere but still no one has stated why 1 is hands down better than the other. Two Left Thumbs you are perfect for this simple question. Is FUTABA better?

Good point that's why this post can potentially be very helpful for someone looking at TX's.

Alas, I can't contribute anything that would make your choice easier. I too have used Futaba, JR, and Spektrum. All have worked well. I like the options available with JR/Spektrum with regards to the multitude of receivers available to you.

What I want to know is does the control during flight feel different and, if so, how do they feel different to various people and why do they prefer the feel of one over the other. We can read about the differences in programming, it is difficult to get people to describe how they feel different. How the sticks feel.

What laughingstill said and Tx. speed, 11ms vs. 22ms. Not that all 3D flyers need the 11ms.
