I bought a 90e used and after my 1st test flight I noticed the tail fin vibrating. I pulled the blades and the vibrations are coming from the driveline. I messed with gear mesh, crown gear mesh also. Everything seems supper smooth until I start it up, the vibrations seem to be the worst just above the main gear in the bearing blocks. I also ran the motor with out meshing it with the main gear and its smooth also. I pulled the main gear assembly apart and it seems fine any ideas from someone who had this problem and corrected it.

Tail fin vibes usually from the tail.

Try some different tail blades - Radix 95 are best.

Look at the tail blades from behind - are they in track? - if not you may have an out of true tail hub

Take the TT out and check bearings are square and rubber supports OK.

CHeck backlash and endplay of tail gearbox - maybe take off the end plate and make sure there's no FB in there eg flash.

Try a different crown wheel - make sure the teeth on the pinion and crown wheel are perfectly clean with no debris left in the teeth hollows.

These are probably the main items - tail vibes are always curable!

Well I removed the top pinion support and most of the vibrations went away, the head had some play because it was missing some washers. Seems pretty good now but the tail blades make more noise than I would like. I will try some smaller tail blades Im using 105's now.

THat suggests the top pinion not lined up square - after adjusting the maingear/pinion backlash you can loosen the pinion support block and run the motor at low HS (with blades off of course and tail pushrod disconnected) and let it find its sweet spot before fixing. If you have a Pyro you really need the support - if a Scorpion motor not so necessary

Good call on the 95mm blades

Vibs are gone tail quieted down and still holds well

Man this heli flies nice

The pinion gear seemed to have a wobble in it Ill buy a new one and try that
