I will be flying a UAV demo on the 13th and 15th of June for some Federal and local agencies at the NVRC field, thanks to their generous permission.

I'm going to bring my Logo 500SE for some fun between demos

Quoted from joec..."For what its worth, the heli pilots that live in around Fairfax, Chantilly, Manassas, etc, all fly at VARCHA."

I don't fly at VARCHA, and I know a lot of heli pilots that don't fly there. It's hard to make blanket statements like that when you don't know "all" the heli pilots. Also there are more heli-only clubs that are workable from Fairfax besides the 2 joec mentions. Pretty sure "joec" is the president of VARCHA, which he never mentions, but with the hard sell of VARCHA he puts on I think it's a safe bet.

Not trying to start a bunch of trouble, just after reading this I feel like we are all in this hobby to have fun. There are more places to fly then VARCHA, and feel like all the clubs in the area deserve equal respect.

Sorry I should have said all the "cool" pilots fly at VARCHA.

And if you don't mean to start a bunch of trouble them why bring it up months and months after its been posted. Seriously don't take things so literal.

RC Flying Sites in Northern VA

Honestly the only clubs that are workable from Fairfax are the following:

Heli-Only
MHA (about 2 hr drive)
VARCHA (40 mins)

Plank & Heli
Fredericksburg Area RC Club (about an hour)
LCAA (40 mins)

This is really funny, since anyone who flies RC in the Chantilly/NOVA area is aware of the Virginia Flyers RC Helicopter Club in Nokesville, VA (actually, it's closer to Gainesville). About a 20 minute drive from Chantilly. Great club with plenty of active members. Club meetings once a month, club helicopter trainer with buddy box, lot's of help when you need it. We've picked up flying time each month at Great Meadow and are also acquiring an additional very large flying site near the main site. Check it out at: http://www.virginiaflyers.com

New Virginia Flyers RC Helicopter Site

Virginia Flyers received the permit today for our club's new/additional flying site. It is adjacent to our current site on 300 acres. The site needs a brush hog cut and a mowing. We plan to lay out the flight line this weekend and the site will be ready very shortly for use. Come check us out!

New RC Heli Field in Northern VA

Virginia Flyers (VAF) has opened a new RC helicopter field near the intersection of Route 29 and Vint Hill Road (just south of Gainesville). Very nice open field with ample room to operate several flight stations. Check out our club website at [url=http://www.virginiaflyers.com]. You can contact me directly with questions and more information. Come check us out!
