I was looking on the Hobby King website and the 40-70c nano tech 6s lipos are dimensionally smaller than the 30C series.

Can you post a pic how you made them fit? I'm not done building yet, but I can't see how they ever would fit...

I've posted this twice already on previous pages, but here it is again..

I'm using the Turnigy 4000mAh 40C batteries and they JUST BARELY fit! In fact, you have to un-solder the leads (which are facing out) and re-solder them facing inward. You can go up to 150mm long, 43mm wide, 50mm deep, but that is all.

See PHOTOS here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...8&postcount=453

Here is the link to the Batts..

http://www.hobby king.com/hobby king/store/__14984__Turnigy_4000mAh_6S_40C_Lipo_Pack_USA_Warehouse_.html

It is a tight fit, but you can still get Align velcro strips around them. I slide the tray into the heli with the rear battery already strapped onto the tray. Then, I put the forward battery in and strap it on. The leads go out through the side of the frame because the 4000's are longer than the 3300mAh batts. They also weigh a lot more (765grams). I fly 'sport/scale' so the extra weight is an advantage for me.

Room enough? I even have a braided cable running UNDER the batteries for my landing lights. There is about 5mm clearance under the batts.

Apart from there being reports of them breaking during flight they are all good to go.

Align have already come out with a V2 version from what I have heard so hopefully the issues may be sorted. Just hold off a while.

Without having done any research of my own.. what is the benefit of this head other than the solid links?

I'm guessing it operates smoother due to the bearing in the top of the link

It lowers the height of the head even more giving quicker response is one point. Removes the need for washout arms.

Make sure you get V2. It should have an A at the end of the part number on the back of the box. The bolts are tapped deeper and the threads sink down into the grip instead of coming out flush with the edge. The flush point is the spot where they were shearing.

The issues were with the 700 DFC head, the 600 was held back until the problems were sorted out.

My apologies, I for some reason thought I was posting on a 700 topic. You are correct as of right now the 600 heads do not have any known issues, at least to my knowledge.

I went out today to get in a little flying on my 600EFL. I hadn't flown since the Orlando heli blowout. We got a little nice weather today (rare for February in Indiana).
I put four flights on it and I gotta say that this is the best flying heli I have ever flown by a long ways. I have owned and flown a bunch over the last dozen years from Raptors to Furys and the latest MA stuff and a few Hirobos along the way. I have a V-Bar on my 550, 3G on my 700N and BeastX on a 600N. This 3GX on this heli is the smoothest, fastest most locked in thing I have ever had my hands on. It is just unreal!

That's all I wanted to say, Matt

Yes, sounds unreal...

I love the heli SINCE I strapped a vbar to the thing. With 3GX it was flavourless at best. To each his own I guess

Second
I also have a Vbar on my 600EFL, and IMHO it is the best, smoothest heli I also have owned. The 3GX was actually pretty good on my 600, but on my 500, in FF it was great but in hovering nervous is the best way for me to describe it.

+1 on the V-Bar. I put one on my Whiplash and shortly there after converted all my helis over to the V-Bar except for my little 450.

I have tried 3G, 3Gx, CGY750, BeastX and now V-Bar. V-Bar and the CGY750 stand alone, I personally prefer to configure the V-Bar because of the wizard on the laptop, but from what I have seen with the 750 all the settings are there. Its just a matter of finding them on the little control unit. If you think the 3GX is stable try a heli with either a V-Bar or a CGY750. Talk about hands off flying, it made my 700 so stable after the conversion I thought I had a brand new heli.

Gotta agree, VBAR is king Any vbar version over 5.0 is absolutely simple to set up, the sat ready RX unit can't be beat and it flys awesome, especially in wind. I've been flying vbar for quite a while and the older units were harder than chinese algebra to set up. But that has all changed and it's now extremely user friendly and the wizard makes it even easier. It's a lot closer to plug-n-play these days. That's my .02
