I have been out of the loop for awhile after having to sell off all my helis. I am now looking to get a heli and see there are alot of new options. So i would like some suggestions from some of my fellow members and what you guys are flying. I don't need the biggest and baddest heli because i'm still not that advanced and don't want to pay a arm and leg for parts. Thanks for any input you guys can offer

2 years out of the hobby isn't that bad. Just pick up where you left off. Besides the FBL systems and better quality electronics, everything is still the same.

If your looking for a nice, quality bird...and inexpensive as you suggested, I would try the RR classifieds. Just make sure to check their feedback. Good luck!

Battery tech is also a whole lot better. I mean 10 min or less charge times...

The new Align "pro" helis offer the best bang for the buck as well as low parts cost.

If you have extra cash burning a hole in your pocket, then the SAB Goblin deserves a close look.

99% of guys are flybarless (FBL) now. For the most part a flybarless heli is a flybarless heli since you can tune most of their performance/flight characteristics on a laptop. Find out what local guys are using for FBL units so they can help snap you in. Find a good deal on a used one. Due to the economy there are a lot of helis for sale.

Don't have the N5c myself but I have the N5 (same but heavier!) and it is the best 50 nitro ive had!

I would agree on the N5c. Love that bird and my 450 and 250 just sit now and I am thinking of selling my 450. The parts cost is not that much higher than Align parts except some tail and main grips because they are CNC and not plastic. Blades are the same pricing obviously and booms are like 20 bucks for two. I did price comparison before I bought and the few dollars difference isn't bad.

well that was just an exagerated figure. The last two funflys I went to I was the only one who had an Flybarred machine. this guy isn't a beginner so no flybar needed.

FBL helis were not even 50% at the last Fun Fly I went ( 34 pilots ).
I my club, we are 6 heli pilots with no less than 20 helis
in the Club, not a single FBL.

That was my thought also. Our club, with around 15 helis, 2 of them FBL.
