Hi Guys,

I would like to know how to remove stripped bolts . I have two small heli's and battling to remove some of the bolts. Basically the hex heads strip.

To add I'm using the blue loctite on them.

thanks

Hey bluefronted,

There are several ways to remove these.

1. Try a little JB weld in the head of the offending screw. Let it set over night with the driver inserted in it and it should come out easily the next day.

2. My personal favorite is, I bought a set of miniature easy-outs that bite into the stripped head without doing much more than you would to back the screw out. Sears sells several sets of these each containing different sizes for what you are working on.

3. Last method I would use is very carefully take a Dremel with a cut-off wheel and carefully make a slot in the head of the screw (if it's exposed). Then using a slotted screwdriver CAREFULLY try backing it out, but I would only use that as a last resort though. If you miss and cut the frame or other parts it can get expensive real fast!

If its locktite just use alittle heat on the head bolt. get your soldering iron and heat the head of the screw and gently try to remove the screw.

The heat will loosen the locktite.

But the Dremel is the most effective way but careful with the surroundings.

Removing stripped bolts
You guys left out the easiest one, Dab a little valve grinding compound on the tip of the tool and go after it. The grit doesn't let it slip. There is a commercial product by the name "Screw Grab" that does the same thing.Never leave home without it!

Thanks Guys,

I could not find the correct dremmel tip so i used a small saw to create the slit, I tried with my flat screwdrivers, was too tight.
Checked on utube tried used a torx tool menthod no luck , so I just drilled the bolt out, tread was damaged, luckily it was in a standoff the tail book gearbox, so I just replace the stadoff of the Trex 450.

I also ordered some screw grabb
