Gearhead rrMaster Vt | I have to say that 1 of the most knowledgeably RC Heli pilots (on Setup and Design) on any forum is Oldfart (Phil Noel), just go back and read some of his replies,,he really impressed me how he could help many Pilots with problems where their own Brand's Reps could not help, and now RR has lost himand Bill Meador has been flying these things 38 years, that should tell you all a lotJim

Gearhead rrMaster Vt | it is M.O. that this post should never have been started, because there is always a faster car and a bigger fish,, oh well I can live with it,,if a given person has helped you I'm very happy you got your Heli right (need help myself once in a while), if this same guy has helped 200 or 300 fliers on the forums great,, but please please when you point at someone don't think lightly, or don't post someone's name because they have asked you to post it, you don't want to pop an over inflated ego (truly sorry if that sounds rude !!)so,, along with Phil and Bill,, my friend here in Vt (sorry, not giving his name) was flying RC Fixed Pitch Helis before the first "Collective" Pitch Heli was realest on the Market, so he bought that first Collective Heli when realest (some time around 1973 or 4) (I think it was a Kavan ??? not sure),, later, in the late 70s or very early 80s he competed a few times and at one point he won 1 or 2 times, but he stopped competing because of the loosing "poor sports" that started trouble with him at these couple competitions, later, in the 90's he did R&D work for a popular brand, BTW> he flies gallons and gallons a year and has not crashed do to Dumb Thumbs in some 20 years (do to mechanical failure, yes, but not Dumb Thumbs), he is now a remarkably pattern Heli pilot (call it F3C ifwanted),, so, he bought one of the very first MA Gassers when MA realest them to the Market back in (what) 1984, 85, ??, many parts have been replaced but he still flies it, so "1984" what's that> 15, 20 years before _ _ _ _ had his first Gasser ???,, yes yes my friend does post in the forums once in a while,, oh he also still has and flies his 18y.o. HeliCat,,BTW, he does more than Autos, one of his favorite maneuvers is a 200ft "diameter" loop (a lot of negative going on there),,someone else I have flown with more than once, but don't know hiim that well, this guy, as a machinist, was building and flying his own designed RC Helis a few years "before" the first RC Heli of any kind (rather Fixed Pitch or Collective) was on the Market, later he even did some R&D work on T-Tiger's Heli Carburetors (funny how he could tune his TT Carbs simply while others had trouble, I guess you got to know what your doing),, he too flew Gassers for many many years,, it is to bad for "all of us" that he has stopped the forum posting thing (because of all the Dogging)so,, there are people on these forums that have studied the Dynamics of the Helicopters, they have done RC Heli R&D work for years and designed popular Blades (while others just started learning Autos), and they did all that for more than their selves, to them this hobby is more than just a hobby, to them it's a Life Style they have been doing since the early 70s, and they are not done, yet they do not get the respect they deserve from the Dogs that Dog them !! ChuckJrster rrVeteran West Monroe, LA - USA | Also, by "fishin' pole" I'm actually refering to the antenna on my trusty old Futaba 9C 72MGHz radio. The guys at my field who had already converted over to 2.4GHz would always tease me whenever I would fly with that thing...and yes...they know who they are...right Rog!? LOL
