Dang you Santiago ! I was gonna be so patient and build mine slowly, waiting for just the right components to be available. Man I need to get this thing in the air! That canopy looks awesome, especially in flight. I'll probably just put 4 2600 6s packs from the Protos in now and try 16s in a few months when the WR 16s BEC comes out. Wonder if the Kontronic 800 motor would fit- 63mm width.
How do you like your setup? What blades you running? I'm gonna try some Torsion Solid 690's to start.

Current setup:

Kontronik Power Jive 120 (6mm bullets on power side)
Scorpion HK4035-500
Futaba BLS253 cyclic, S9251 Tail
Mikado Mini V-Bar v5.2
R6008HS receiver
Tx power: Kontronik Bec with 1500ma Nimh
EDGE 693mm FBL blades
Stock Tail blades
Turnigy 6S 5000ma 25c, and Voltz 5100ma

I have a Xera 4530-500 ready to go, but I rather do the 1st few flights with the more benign Scorpion, and the very stable EDGEs.
Have other sets of blades to try later.

Looks great! I wish I could fly. 25 to 40 below 0 here. It's been that cold for a month now. This has been a hard winter for us, Maybe April I might be able to fly mine

Flew 5 more times since.
So far this stands out: @1700rpm @+-11degrees, very quiet and plenty of power and agility for most of my 3D, big air manuevers and flying near 100mph, flights lasting almost 9 minutes using 3850-4000ma per pack off Tunigys 25C 5000ma; that's less that 80% capacity!!!

Done a few hot passes at +12degress @ 1900rpm, over 100mph. It has great visibility, but is so fast it disappears in a hurry.

This on the old Scorpion HK4035-500, Power Jive 120, 693mm Edges. Saving the big Xera for prom date

The toilet paper cardboard tube, high tech stuff here, lol.

The tube is cut to fit the boom ID and slid in about center. Is supposed to keep the belt from slapping if it ever does.

I used it, though I don't smack.

Couple more flights today at 1900 and 2030RPM.
Quite frankly I prefer to fly it at lower RPMs 17-1800. It can do anything you want there and without pushing the motor or batteries.

That is a "kitchen tissue roll"!

put more tenchin on the belt, the shock has adjustment holes, the way I seen it done at IRCHA was to tighten the belt tight like a logo 500, pull it good, the shock should come in about half way, or just move the shock in , should not here a slap,

Thats is how I did mine, with the spring/shock resting about mid travel, not slapping at all.

It is currently very cold here in Germany, about -15°C/5°F. So we have made yesterday payload tests with prototypes of new NHP750-Aggressor blades. Seem to be very good blades. Watch the vertical acceleration with 5kg payload...

After about 25 flights on mine i found the belt stretched slighly, getting a lot of slapping in the boom.

I retighten as misskimo said and set to 4th hole as per manual, belt is tight again and no slap. I dont think it will need any further adjustment

My belt stretch a little the first 3 flights, I re-tighten once and it stayed put.
Also did something I started doing on all my belt models, apply a very light coat of silicon to the belt.
In the winter, the belt starts tight and as soon as it starts working generates heat, and expands a bit. The lube keeps the temp down and more stable.
This is something we do on larger helicopters like the Yamaha R-Max, but it never dawned on me to do it to my own models. It works.

Yeh. Temps can do funny things, Let it sit outside in the sun, that black boom will get hot and grow, stretch e belt, then the clouds come in later and the boom shrinks back to normal, got a loose belt now. But not with the shock on the heli
