After several attempts, I think I've finally got my Trex 250 to not only look good but also to fly good. I see a lot of Trex 250's which are full of electronics and wires plastered all over the outside of the airframe. I figured out a way to make it nice and clean on the outside with all wires running inside. I also figured out that by using the MicroBeast I can get away with not cutting the frames. Most of this helicopter is aftermarket parts, but I felt this was necessary to get it to build and fly the way I like. Hopefully the pictures will be worth 1000 words, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Ok I'll take it. I'm thinking about getting a 250, any advice? What are the flight times?

Sweet heli!

They are 850mAh Hyperion packs. Not the greatest batteries, but they fit nicely and make it balance how I want. Flight times are 3:30. Flybarless head is MicroHeli. I would use the Align FBL head if I had to do it over again, but I originally bought this in late 2009 and this was all that was available at the time. Besides the MicroHeli head comes with the frame supports to mount a Vbar (where you have to cut the back of the frame). But you can see the MicroBeast fits between the frames with no cutting.

Flybarless is OK. Nothing like the stability of a 450 FBL, but OK nevertheless considering the side. I have done a LOT of work on this helicopter. I think it flies as good or better than all of the other Trex 250's out there. Lots and lots of upgrades and modifications. But I feel this is what it takes to get the helicopter to fly right.

Best upgrade is the HemiJoint tail spacers. This solved a lot of problems. I am using the V1 frames and I mount the servos inside the frame to get the correct geometry. They are actually RJX aftermarket frames which are a little bit thicker and more durable.

Next best upgrade is the 1.6mm McMasterCarr bolts. You have to re-tap all of the metal parts to get these bolts to fit, but you do this by putting some oil on the bolt and forcing it in.
