Excellent video!

I read a post a few years ago that described this approach, which I then learned to replicate on the simulator before trying it for real. This video would have really helped back then!

I've by no means perfected the piro-flip. Upright to inverted I can do quite well, inverted back to upright is still a bit rough. For some reason I don’t always use the right amount of aileron.

One thing I did do differently was to start upright nose-in, then pull back on the elevator. I did it this way such that I was always flipping away from me. I was worried that I would propel the heli towards me whilst I was learning...

Awww! You can do it!

5 circle starts as left circle, 45 deg circle, sideways loop, 45 deg circle, and right circle. It looks like a slinky spread open.

Now on top of that, you just add piros as you follow the path.

7 circle is 0deg, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180deg circles with transition in front of you.

4 position piro tic-toc

1 tail down piro tic-toc (tail down on tic and toc)
1 tail left(or right) piro tic-toc
1 tail up
1 tail right
1 tail down

let me see if I can find the normal (non piro) slinky.

Globe has two intersecting points at top and at bottom center.
Slinky has only one intersecting points in the center.

Think of a horizontal fig8. Now lift up the left circle 45deg (as if you lifted a left page in a book at 45deg and hold the page virtical (so you see the page as an edge with circle drawn in the page).

At 2:13 he starts a 5 circle slinky from the right to left.
It is a bit hard to see due to bad camera work.
