Brings back memories to me of flying in the snow, Alighn was small then. I used to email them with constructive comments on how the product could be made improved, even received reply’s on occasion. When Allighn were small I even received hand written Xmas cards for 3yrs running.

Check out the items I have for sale in the clasifieds including a CSM 420

Nostalgia? Maybe. It was pretty innovative at the time. Definitely started a revolution. Looks pretty antiquated now. Can't wait for what we'll see in another 5-6 years.

Hi guys

My LHS gave me one to test for them.... what a heap of crap.

There was binding/fouling on the pitch mechanism, there was slop/wobble everywhere, the servos were super slow, weak and very bad at centring. The motor fell apart, the gyro was a box with nothing in it..... Or so it performed. The blades flexed and wobbled ESP with the soft 1 o ring head setup. The batteries were about 12c and puffed in fear if you just looked them funny..... And it all looked like a small electric Raptor 30v1.

But YES it did start something..... Adults screaming in frustration at small toys, much like toddlers.

Regards
Paul

Ps: it wasn't all bad. Since then I have bought 2x Align 450's, 2x 700n and 2x 700e.....

I had one just like that, including the Hacker motor with purple heat sink. What a bitch to work on servos, as I recall.

I still have a couple. Shots from the past:

Stock plastic swash, $80 Microheli upgrade on the right.

The two I have are the 450X and 450X-V2.

Yes, everyone back then noted the striking resemblance to a scaled-down Raptor. There were even reports that TT was suing Align for stealing the design.

Remember that the "only game in town" prior to the introduction of that 450 was the Zoom, or Shogun....

I remember the shogun but I didn't buy a electric heli
I bought a nitro hirobo shuttle instead mostly because I wanted longer flight times and didn't think the electrics would give me enough time to learn how to fly them back then LOL

That be a 450X-V2, with the half-and-half swashplate.
