I didn't see anything here about it, so I wanted to report that the Hyperion phase sensor works perfectly with the Spektrum telemetry. I made a plug adapter by putting a female servo plug on a satellite cable, and reversed the signal and ground wires. Plugged it in and the DX8 reports my head speed.

All for less than half of the price of the Spektrum branded sensor.

Nope. What do you want a pic for? Solder it onto your motor lead and plug it in.

Because at the time I didn't fully understand how you'd set up.

Now, as I understand it, after a bit more thought and not thinking mini VBar 5.2.4 governor setup not working with Jive HV80+:

Spektrum antenna extension with a female servo plug at one end, reverse sig and ground pins

Plug this into rpm port on TM1000

Go into Telemetry setup in DX8 and configure for gear ratio and motor pole count
Solder it onto your motor lead and plug it in.
It was the other end of the phase sensor wiring I was interested in. Like new pins or cut and solder, neatness of job etc.

Either way, thanks for your post as I hadn't given this a thought as I was more interested in the Vbar governor. Since I'm having no joy with that I will now persue the rpm instead of removing the already installed phase sensor.

Installed Hyperion phase sensor as rpm sensor on TM1000 and it works a treat.

So much easier to tune headspeed than trying to fly whilst using the optical tach at the same time.

I had a spare remote Rx cable so cut one end off it and joined it to a female servo plug from a spare y-cable. Reversed pins as described by original poster and ended up with a patch lead about 4" long.

In DX8 telemetry setup page I just entered gear ratio and motor pole count, enabled RPM and was good to go. RPM reading don't start working until around the 350rpm mark.

1% throttle is roughly 50rpm.
