I think I have it diagnosed...but wanted to see what others thought.. It spins left on spool up and while in flight. I can compensate while flying (with full right stick LOL) and can trim most of it out but then it doesn't fly well, of course. While watching it spin up..the tail rotor seems to stay straight but she still wants to turn.

I think I tried everything...it's mechanicly correct...servo works fine...gyro is set like it's supposed to be...trims are at 0 when set e'thing is 90 etc etc., swapped out the gyro. I even reset the radio and started from scratch. I even burned old heli parts, turned around three times and spat twice in an effort to appease the RC heli gods. Nothing.

I think it's the thrust bearings, but they pass the "pull and turn test". On my 700's it's real easy to check the thrust bearings, maybe the 450 doesn't feel the same when checking the thrust bearings?

Thanks,

Rob

What gyro? Is it in rate mode by any chance? Do you give the gyro enough time to initialise before moving the heli?

60% of the time, it works every time!

Not knocking the Kit.. This has happened twice at my club.

1st one was the 450 sport tail blade holder bearing locked up after 1st flight. However everything passed the test as you say. Then we took the mains off spun it up and the tail was frozen no movement. But at idle all is good. Replaced bearings no more issues.

2nd was my 3GX Pro and same issue, on bench perfect, in air would not turn to the left. Same diagnosis since the last kit. Removed the mains and no go at speed.

I suggest the same test. Remove the mains and spin it up to speed and see if the tail can move freely in and out..

Just my 2 cents...

I had a problem similar to that on my trex 500. When you took off in hh mode it was fine but when you flipped it into rate mode it would spin quickly to the left. Had to move the servo mont to get the correct tail blade pitch to hold the tail correctly when in rate mode. A heli wants to turn to the right naturally so you need just enough left coming from the tail blades to hold it strait. Make sense? Hope this helps.
