Why would you get the ultimate when you could get the comp. The belt version is like 269 and carbon all over the place with direct to swash. The heli is sick and you wont be sorry. Goto http://www.rcheliworkz.com/group.asp?grp=278 or call there and talk to chris about it. He will answer any questions you have im sure of it great guy to.

My LHS has the Ultimate on offer thats why I ask. Carbon is not always a good thing and the Ultimate is also direct to swash.

How much for the ultimate at your LHS if i can ask? Im just saying the the comp belt version is going to be the way to go but thats just my opinion its well machined ect... but i understand about the carbon but its stiffer and stronger and dont care about the looks it stiffins the heli up not sure you flying style but for 270 thats the way i would go its dirt cheap man.

I picked up my Ultimate at IRCHA in the box for 75.00. Seems like a decent heli.
Got it set up and trimmed, so far as good. I figure I would use this heli to practice autos with.
Funny thing is, I found a nice looking canopy but it's 74.00. And I only gave 75.00 for the frame.

I've just gotten one of my Ultimates going again and have to say I'm sticking with the Ultimates. The competition I had flew great but crashed terrible - both frame halves busted pretty good. Going to put some of the nicer bits that survived into an Ultimate and build the Ultimate Ultimate. Might even convert the V50c head into fbl and make a V50u fbl with the V50c metal tail parts and the one-way that is so much better than the V50u. I really don't like the way the flybar works on either head, so prone to damage. Fortunaly the fbl conversion is simple and cheap.

I got some good milage out of my first V50u build
(yep, dragging out this old picture)

I agree, getting a bent flybar out is a nightmare! Then there are those 6 tiny bearings which are expensive and break easily!

I use the Raptor 50 one way which is better quality and cheaper!

I have not had any problems with my Ultimate other than engine/pipe troubles. I have crashed hard afew times and had to replace the lower right frame once it was a inexpensive part to fix.

I got one at IRCHA, had 3 flights and my tail servo went dead, lost control and went in hard. Ended up being a rekit, but I liked it a lot and so I built a new one and waiting on a new DS650.

It was a joke, but I guess you have to have watched the A-Team to get it.
