Greetings all,
I know there are some of you out there that have had brushless motors fail. What were some of the symptoms that lead up to it? I might have one going but I don't know the signs. Thanks

I am running a blade cp with brushless separates. The main is a thunerbird 18 with the eflite 370. The tail is a thunderbird 9 with GY401 and medusa motor. I have developed a tail wag that has gotten to be uncontrollable. I have changed the tail esc and the 401, with no change. The gain adjustment has little to no affect. At times the tail will quit altogether. I did notice last night that there seems to be quite a draw on the system when other inputs are entered. In other words, with more tail rotor rpm, the heli drops, and with any great swashplate command, the heli drops. I'm starting to suspect the main motor going and not the tail motor. I have run the tail motor and the tail esc minus the gyro on the bench and it seems to work fine. I read somewhere that a brushless will pulse before it fails. Maybe the tail is just chasing the main motor pulsing.

This must sound too basic but have you checked the battery?

Thanks Pete,
That helped out quite a bit. I ran both my main and tail motors in my drill press for 3 minutes. The only thing I found that was not so good was the the voltage on the main motor between the red and the white wire was .115 while the other two were .121. I have another main motor on order but I doubt that I found the problem.
