Man I’m so glad I stumbled onto this RR thread. You were posting on HF and then no updates.
You really did a nice job on it. That thing just goes out of site in the Video. WHAT POWER! How COOL!

I hope you can stick with the Plastic Frame. Great Job!

I wonder if I can put a 6S or 8S motor in my Logo 500. Hmmmmm

the euro-baller just turned it's first profit....

Had a simple AP gig recently and took some of the footage and made a little diddy....

Watch at Vimeo

about to install a new boca one way and give the kde 700xf another try. if that don't do it, may consider cf frame upgrade.

mr mel seems to think that would git'er done...

had some successes with it at src over the weekend and discovered some limitations with the best boca one-way bearing (past failure point) in it's size available for the logo.

over all, positive.

will post some vids and pics in the near future.

1 question came up:

why install a 700/800 class 12s-16s motor in a 600 class stretched logo?

to keep from going into a long story answer, the short answer is,

because i can. more later...

thanks mike,

the one-way went on a hard maneuver. it was the strongest torque one way bearing boca makes in this size.

lesson: don't throw full elevator and pitch in at the same time with some speed on the KDE monster in a plastic framed logo. that was what i wanted to find out. where the breaking point was. it is hard to get to, but i found it.

the stock ones ways (x3) lasted about 2.5 flights of light flying.

this one went 9 and i pushed it as hard as i could to a degree.

cf frames should work better.

broke lg struts and bent a link. it's back up and ready for some more.

I guess you could keep flying it with the Boca One-way. Just know the limit. Reminds me of an old saying

Logo-Baller
Doctor it hurts when I do this.

Well then don't do that.

How will carbon frames decrease stress on the one-way bearing?

Are you saying the CF frames will flex more or less than the Mikado plastic frame???

Yes, the carbon frames will not flex as much as the plastic frames but flexing would not cause a oneway to give out. If a part was going to fail due to flexing it would be the maingear, not the oneway.

A correctly built CF frame may not flex as much but I just don't see the stock Mikado frames flexing. I would think with the rigidity they have,` they would break before they flexed to the point of mechanical failure.......Ron

yes, flexing will cause undue loads on the one way,

i would tend to agree but they are flexing.

mr. mel can give you some insite on this. he and i have spoke about this.

ok,

mr mel told me that the plastic frames will flex under the type of loads i am inducing on the plastic logo frames using a 16s 10,000 watt kde motor on 12s with 2100+ headspeed in a machine designed as a 600.

he told me the cf frames would work much better.

with my better part of the last 25 years in the aerospace industry, i tend to concur.

we shall see.

next question is usually why:

because it's fun, and i can.

the same reason people put 455's in vega's i suppose.
