seldred rrVeteran Newnan, GA | For those of you who are team pilots or sponsored, how did you wind up with who you represent? Going to fun flys? Sending in videos? Knowing the right people? Just curious to hear a few of your stories.

Heli-on rrVeteran Southern Cali, CA - USA | Sponsored pilots only read the forums. They're not allowed to have opinions. Isn't freedom of speech wonderful?

Mapleleafs rrVeteran Ontario, Canada | put it this way....to become a company representative you usually go to them via email, phone and video.to become a sponsored pilot, they come to you via funfly.ive been both in the past and can say i much rather be a company representative than pilot, the expectation and stress is much less while still benefiting from the +30% discount...yes being a company pilot is nice at times, especially when testing new products and such but i found it to extremely time intensive and became more of a chore, taking the 'FUN' out of the hobby....!![]() Vbar Trex 700N, Vbar MSH Protos 500, Vbar Logo 400

![]() rrElite Veteran New York | As long as you don't forget where you came from. Some sponsored pilots I know, one in particular thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. When people ask him questions at funflys he tells them "do a google search". That is pretty sad when your ego is inflated because you are sponsored. He must have a small winky.

Jeff polisena rrElite Veteran westpalmbeachflorida usa | No matter what you have to build a good rep and be consistently in spot light and innovative . I found you pay more for expenses than the savings of being sponsored . Myself started a business rc heli related building and flight training and by word of mouth my reputation keeps me busy paying for almost 100% of my hobby . I no longer have business but still have customers that keep me busy .I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Havoc rrElite Veteran Ky. | It's a sales job, you need to be a salesman. I hate salesmen in general but the ones in the hobby aren't too annoying.
