Hi, I'm new to the heli settings, I have a lot of stick time just don't know how to set up a radio.(Time to learn)
I have a 600n and GY520 gyro, my friend set it up for me this week, I have about 12 flights on it and I'm just going over everything and notices the rudder servo travel is to much and makes the rod under the main gear off the servo arm bends and hits the gears, and when it pushes and make the frame bend when it pulls, this cant be good. I went into my DX7 settings and thought I could turn down the travel on the rudder from 100% to 30% and it fixed the travel problem but the servo was supper slow. I'm not testing this in flight only on the work bench.
Can you help? thanks.

What kind of gyro, travel is set with the gyro setup or in gyro setup mode.
Depending on what port your gyro is plugged into this would be how you adjust gyro gain as in if the aux gyro lead is plugged into the gear channel you would use travel adjust for the gear channel to adjust gyro gain.
Get your gyro instructions and radio instructions out and follow them.

First we need to know what gyro you are using. Am going to presume you are using the Align GP780. If you are you need to set the end points in the gyro. If you have the manual it is in there. Here is a link for the manual if you need one. This will be for the Align GP780 gyro.Hope this helps. Chuck

Rudder travel adjust will only effect your piro rate, if it doesn't spin fast enough at 100% travel you would increase that number to make it faster or lower that number to slow it down.
Each number affects only one direction.

sounds like you need to adjust rudder throw in gyro set up-refer to gyro instructions to learn how to do that.rudder travel in transmitter only adjusts yaw rate of rudder-ie piro rate

I'm using a GY520
and now I under stand what I was doing was only controlling the speed of the servo. I don't have the gyro instructions, I bought the heli used.

So now you're going to go into the Gear Channel settings after everybody has told you to set the End-Points by following the Gyro Setup instructions. Since you don't have the manual, have you thought about doing a Google search for it? Print it out and follow the setup instructions.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but damn.
