i have the petrol version, is there any maintenance required for the tail gearbox?
the gearbox had already been fixed in when i bought the fuselage. but there seems to be graese coming out of it now. as far as i can see it doesnt say grease it in the instructions.

The gear box has a hole where grease can be added. Depending on the amount of grease inside,it will force some of it out but the gears will still have enough on them

Correct, but that depends on which gearbox he has installed. The black plastic gearbox has to be opened to add lithium grease, the billet aluminum case is the one that has the hole. It wouldn't be a bad idea to check that it has enough grease. They typically require very little.

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

If it has grease in it now, you are all set. I have used these for many years, and unless i have a mishap, there is nothing to do to this gearbox.
