I've heard pushed to the same levels of power, the xera and scorpion get equally warm.

Hmm, I'm definitely interested in this motor, but I want to ensure that it's going to deliver what I want before I cough up the dough for it. I'm getting good power with my current Xera 4030-3Y, but it is getting far hotter than I'm comfortable with. I want a motor that delivers the same power, at a much lower temperature.

I ran 127.2 MPH at the IRCHA Speed Cup today
This was good enough for 2nd place overall and the fastest of the TDR's, including the Henseleit team guys. The fastest machine was one of the new MiniCopter Diablo's. It ran 128 MPH running a rewound Scorpion and was pulling 20 degs of pitch. I'm sure I could have gone a bit better with fresh packs. Mine were Voltz 4500 45C's that had quite a few cycles. All and all not a bad showing for the 4530 Xera. I checked the temps it at the end of the run and the highest was 170 at the base of the mount.

The Diabolos and TDR's all sounded great rippin through the air. It was cool to see Timo and friends compete too. Good job Danny.

How much pitch were you running and headspeed? 127mph is darn good in my book. Honesty I couldn't tell the difference if you flew by at 127 vs. 128mph.

On another note, how does this motor compare to the scorpion 4525-520? I know the xera has better bearing on their motor compare to the scorpion. For myself I'm really leaning towards the Xera LE just because the Xera has a better cooling system, but of course the scorpion looks prettier.

I was running 15 deg top end pitch. I don't know what the head speed was. I had a 15T pinion and ran with the TC @ 100% so it was turning pretty good. I had tach'd it at 2100 @ 70% TC before the event.

I'd say the Xera 4530-500 and Scorpion 4525-520 are on par power wise. The Xera does seem to run cooler but remember it is a slightly lower KV.

What's the final gear ratio Danny?
I beleive it's around 10.7 with a 15T. I had a 16T with me but did not have a chance to fly it before the event.
