My T500, which I have been flying very well for several years now, is giving me all kinds of problems. I can not get it to not spin to the left, even when at liftoff, it is slightly spinning to the right. I have been struggling with this problem for several weeks now and I am wondering what can go wrong with 401 gyro that appears to be working right but can not hold a heading in Rate or HH mode. At times I find a setting where it seems ok but in a few seconds it is doing the spin to the left which forces me each time to bring it to the ground.
I believe I understand the act of setup in which with the powered heli has all servos as close as possible to the 90 degree position. All settings at midpoint on the TX and the tail blades at their midpoint. But no matter how I move the servo or how I change the settings it quickly spins to the left and I must bring it down.
I have written several other places at RR but can not seem to get any kind of answer to the question of what could the problem with a gyro be, that is acting this way?
The heli is lifting off in very good form, and seems to be running well and yet I keep getting this same result!
I have checked tail blade rotation many times, and just put on a new belt that is snug as can be. The gyro, when the heli is turned CC sends the tail slider over to the tail boom, as it should.
I have taken apart the tail servo, and found it operating ok.
I am hoping that someone can shed some light on this problem without going into the whole routine of the setup process, that I believe I am quite familiar with.
Thanks to all.

Did you set it in rate mode? Did you make sure you don't have any trim or sub trim? Does it move on the bench after you plug it but don't move the heli?

Check the tail and thrust bearings and at least grease them, if they are good. Make sure the slider is moving easy also.

T500 SPINNING TO THE LEFT.

I have thoroughly checked the bearings in the tail and they all seem to be in good shape and I have made sure they are properly lubricated. The slider seems to move very easily and the servo always moves to the left when I twist the heli counter clockwise, towards the front of the heli which is on the left. This move moves the slider a bit closer to the tail boom and that means more pitch for the tail rotor.

I always start out my tests in Rate mode but when it does not operate correctly in that setting, then I go to HH mode and it does pretty much the same thing, which is a turn counter clockwise of the whole heli, after perhaps a few seconds of it holding a decent heading, and that forces me to bring it down or else I would loose all control and probaly cause a damaging crash.
I have tried asking this question at verious places on RR but just cannot seem to get any even close anwers, and I know it is not an easy question.

Do you think the gyro could have just went bad?

500 constant spinning to the left

Heli 770,

That is exactly the question I am really asking. How can a gyro seemingly doing everything it is supposed to do not operate correctly? But no one out there seems to have an answer. I would think that a gyros circuitry could go wrong and cause such a problem but so far noone has come up with that kind of info. My next step will dig into the actual circuitry of a gyros makeup via some google searches.
