Welcome! Get a MCPX, you could fly it over the grill when you have a minute to spare! They are a small one. Dang I feel like a promoter but I just like the heli. Hovered my sons in the living room checking out for him once.
But once again, Welcome!

Guys, how long did you spend time on simulator from 1D flying style to 3D?
Is that true the bigger heli easier to fly?
I've been crashing a lot while practicing and keep all my CRASH TRASH and hopping someday i can ship it back to Taiwan for them to recycle and they can give me a break on parts price

1d to 3d

one word "alot". I wouldn't even come close to worrying about 3d flying at the stage you are at. Even on the simulator I think you need to practice normal flying for quite some time. Get used to that and then get used to it again and get some good muscle memory developing before attempting the 3d stuff.

Well that is unless you have one of those really really fat wallets and don't mind throwing it at parts

Welcome to the insanity. To get to 3d you must fly beyond the screaming point of all the plastic in your wallet! And then some.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

How long to 3D? It depends on a few factors and the two most important ones are 'time' and 'money'. If your're a pre-teen to mid-teens kid and your parents can afford it probably 3 months to 6 months to 3D. Late teens to mid-twenties and your parents can afford it less than 9 months. Mid-twenties to thirty-ish and you're on your own about a year. Thirties to Forties working with a family between a year and two years. Forties to Fifties two years to fours years. Fifties and up fours years plus. Sixties; fives years plus to 'not in this lifetime' Best advice already given: Get a simulator and use it everyday!
