Built-in fan is always a huge plus when running this motor in the TDR. I'll be waiting for Rob's review on this motor. I'm either getting this motor or the Scorpion LE.

Will the Xera fit in a Trex 700E V2? The stock motor doesnt seem to have a whole lot of extra room because of the elevator servo.

I don't have the new Trex Electric but whichever mods you need for the scorpion 4525 will work with the Xera since they are close to the same diameter.

Thanks man, I'm gonna give the motor a try when I can find one in stock. I have been running one of the first production xeras on my 8s logo, but sold it. I want another xera because it is about the most efficient motor I've ever used. I'm running a Pyro in my logo 600se and don't like it nearly as much as the xera. Pyros are overpriced in my opinion.

They're in stock on my webpage http://www.xeramotors.com I also think Esprit has some still in stock but Danny is going to IRCHA so you might have to call and ask them if they see anything on the shelf. There will also be a few for sale at IRCHA although you might need to act fast if you want to snag one of those.

anyone know what the wind is on these motors?
i am curious to see if they are also wound with a single strand thick (1.4mm) type wire that 45xx and the Pyro Black are wound from

Uses multistrand wire. Seems there is a bit of hype that single strand wire is better than multistrand. You can look at the motor specs to see what the truth is.

David,

Can you confirm whether this motor is hand wound. Also, Scorpion lists the maximum watts for their 4530 LE motor as 10000 watts for two seconds and 4500 continuous. What's the continuous rating for this motor?

Yes, they're hand wound. With proper cooling 5000W continuous. All the motors specs are on http://www.xeramotors.com

Hello CNCAddict!

I'm going to rewind it with one strand wire. Does it make sense?
What wire diameter is better?

It's going to be hard to beat the stock winding using larger diameter wire so I doubt it will be worth the time, but I'd love to see what you come up with.

Too funny. That's like asking, "Hey Davinci, I'm planning on touching up your masterpiece the Mona Lisa. What type of paint should I use?"

Dear SkyfoxSXer, y1der!

Do you know about Scorpion rewinding with 1.7mm wire http://www.powercroco.de/12N10P4530.html and world speed record http://www.allmyrc.com/articles/showentry.php?e=446 ?
