I have been flying my 550 on the 600m motor with 520 blades and loved it but I have purchased the 600MX motor and bought some 550's to try. What head speeds are you guys using for these blades. And what pinions to get there? Thanks.

Did he crash? Dang, I missed it!

The manual recommends a 16t (as I recall. You had a choice between 16 and 17 with the kit).

Depends on what flying your doing?

If your using the stock ESC you can't/shouldn't go higher than the 16T pinion.

Could you do me a favour and run the MX motor with the 520's and let me know if its better than the 600M motor?

Richardmid1,
I went to the 600MX over 600M on mine (before my 12S conversion) and got a noticeable increase in power and lower vibes

Thanks for that. Does it run cooler? Did your flight time go up or down?

Never checked.
I dropped my timer from 5:30 to 5:00 as the MX was making more power and pulling more juice

Ok so if I went to the MX motor and 550's ide loose 1.5 mins?! Ide be down to 3 mins! I must admit I expected this heli to fly for much longer given the size of the packs and only running 520's!

Well,, If your a stick banger ,,, get more batteries..
If you run the $hit out of them ... You need more batteries..! LOL
And if you think that's bad try a Trex 600 Pro.!!
Two batteries for 12 cells and you get about 3 to 4 minutes out ot two batteries!!
If your a Stick Banger!!

I was running the 600m and switched to 600mx while running 550s. I noticed cooler running, smoother, more efficient. Didn't notice much more power, maybe a little.

I run mine on stock speed control (410 flights old at that) 90% flat power. 16t pinion, headspeed is 2640. I get 4 minutes whipping the crap outta it.
