I thought I read somewhere it was one of the motors for the mcx.
I'll keep looking as I want some spares too.

my tail is not holding, even in hover and someone suggested that the tail motor is shot, which would make sense after 100 flights. he said that he has gone thru 3 in 100 flights. so i guess, yes, they do fail somewhat often??

i picked up the tail boom and motor for the msr120 and it did not work, but the motor on that one has the wiring going from the board, thru the tail boom same as the mcpx, but there is a plug by the tail motor. if we could source tail motors and use the same plugs we could just unplug it, pull it out, and plug a new on in that is prewired.

guys

First off the motors don't burn up unless you really smash the crap out of it alot! All you need to do is take the tail out and unsoilder the plug then pull the motor housing off the tail boom pull the wires out of the tail boom and soilder the plug back on.Cut a piece of 2mm carbon rod 1 inch longer then grind or file a small flat on one end a little smaller than the one on the stock one is ok. Then push it in the frame use the round cutout on your Ball link pliers and help it in, make sure it just pops out of the frame. Then file a flat on the other end keep it small and test fit it take more if needed and get it straight. Once it fits right push it in and then just wrap the wires along the tailboom and plug it back in. I have way over 100 flights on the same motor with no problems also put the travel adjust up to 150 both ways it will make the motor much more responcive.

I did use a MSR120 tail and it can work but you need to drill the frame to 3mm and cut the tail blades down but keep the lenth stock but it will kill batteries so I went back to a stock motor.
