I'm stretching my Logo400 to swing 520-550 mains, w/ the 620 boom and 540XL belt. I'm planning on running a Scorpion 4025-1100kV motor with a CC ICE 75(which I have) or maybe 100. I want to run an 8s stick pack made from 2 4s packs end to end. What mAh would balance best and give some decent flight times, say, over 4 mins.

I've heard everything from 2650mAh up to 4000mAh for pack size. What's the "just right" size please?

I fly light 3D and FFF. A few tic-tocs and rainbows, loops, stalls.....that kinda novice stuff. Nuthin hard core.

Any help is appreciated. Thx!

That really is a 6s motor. I run a similar setup on my L10. 1100kv motor, Ice 100, 550 blades, 6s 4000-5000s. In order to run 8s you'll need a lower kv motor. Good news is that my L10 is a freaking rocket on 6s. I would go with a 100 amp esc though. I ran a 75 when I was running 500s but with 550s it got too hot. The ice 100 barely gets warm.

I was thinking I would end up with an ICE100 anyways, so I may go that route from the start. If I was to get the 850kV(I think) in the same 4025 motor, would that be low enough to run 8s?
Sorry for the stupid questions, but I've never gotten good with all the different amps per cell and stuff like that. My bad.

Thanks!

6s 3300 was a very balanced size in my buddy's logo 400 stretched to run 523's. at 2000 rpm it had plenty of pop and sounds like it would suite your power requirements. it got about 5-6 minutes of light 3d and aerobatic time on the 6s 3300. If sticking with 6s, i would go 3300, if 8s, i'd go with 2500-2600 giving you the same watt-hours in 8s. I'd get the ice 100 either way as they are identical units, but the ice 75 has some capacity "deactivated" by castle to make it a 75 amp unit.

I think I'll go with the 6s set-up, as you both make good points. So....
Now we're back to; one says,"4000-5000mAh", one says ,"3300mAh"......
Cast your vote for the perfect mAh for a L10 swinging 520s to start, but long enough for 550s.

The 890kv motor works well with 8s. I have a buddy running that motor on 8s in a swift 620. It has plenty of power to move his 620 bladed bird around really well. It should be a monster on a L10. Battery wise I would find something in the 3200-4000 range. If you can fit 3750s I think it would be perfect for a 550 bladed bird. Go on the smaller range if you use smaller 520 blades. Let me know if you have any more questions.

IF you're going to go with 6 s and the 4025 with 550 blades I would run at least 4000s. If going 520s I would still go with 4000s but would be comfortable with 3750s. You will still have a light machine. Other 550 birds run 5000s. My stretched L10 is great with 5000s but it is a tight fit.
