Killingworth, CT - USA

FREE That word seems to get attention these days - and that's what this is. A place to fly helicopters of all sizes for FREE. I know you want to hear what the catch is. There really is none. The place is called Wettish Park (a dude's name). It's located at 35 Parker Hill Road Extension in Killingworth, CT. It was paid for with state funds so it's open to everyone. It's basically 4 soccer fields (plus extra space) that have a big parking area and a paved walkway. It's maintained but there are NO goal posts, stands, or activities(or Porto-Toilet). Grass is growing and mowed but it's not fully in yet. The park is open. You wouldn't want to play soccer (any team sport) but everything else is not only possible but perfectly legal. Because they don't schedule activities, they don't have a gate-keeper who unlocks the place daily. You park at the gate (big space actually) and walk in. It's very safe and FREE. I fly a 450 so I'm usually there early evening when the wind drops. You can see it on Google Maps (there's a lot more grass now). I live on the North Side of the park and will help out anyone who knows how to use "please" in a sentence.

Update - (Google Maps is not very accurate, sorry) The official address isn't listed but guessing by nearby mailboxs it's roughly #35. It's a big place, hard to miss, and a couple flyers stop by now and again
