Thanks Mr Clown,
I saw your transmitter tray and liked the idea so I copied yours. It works great. Thanks for all your info. There's a lot to know to keep these things in the air.

I like what the Ray guy said in the 1st post, 2nd video. "If you can't hover it, you can't fly it".

How to check CG......?

Thank you wicked for your time making this videos.

I'm newb and first what CG means?

What about if the heli moves to one side?

I guess that that means I have too much weight on (for example) the battery side?

How do i fix that?

Thank you again!!!

center gravity .

i had my esc mounted on the side once and the cg was off the heli would lean so i just mounted my es to the bottom of the heli.

you can use some trim to help you heli level up

or mount your esc some where else if its mounted on the side

or slide your lipo over to off set the balance

if your helicopter does not have a good balance aka CG = center of gravity.

for example when you lift off the ground if your helicopter is nose heavy or side heavy the helicopter will start to move in the direction of the extra weight.

if you want a good hover center your heli good and you wont have to fight with your sticks as much.

How did you prep that milk bottle canopy before you started painting.

I never had much luck painting those raptor can-o-pea's..

I think he used a Scotch-Brite and sanded with that until all of the glossy look was gone. Then primed and painted. I didn't hear well enough to decide if he sanded between primer and paint. I wire much better than I paint!!!

Yes but the paint needs to bond to the substrate material chemically to work.

When I considered painting my raptor milk jug someone said something about bumper primer being used. If you just paint it, it supposedly just chips off. I reconsidered painting it and did not do it in the end.

Good point gyronut. The plastic canopies have a release agent from molding. That is usually where the problems start when trying to paint them. The following steps usually remove that release agent.

1.) Wash with Dawn Dishsoap
2.) Scrub with Scotch-Brite
3.) Flame treat with torch rapidly moving around the canopy.
4.) Wipe down with alcohol. Good alcohol >90%
5.) Flame treat again.
6.) Wipe down with alcohol again.
7.) Use SEM XXX adhesion promoter. Usually about $10-15 for an aerosol can of it.
8.) Paint.

You're welcome. I think your posts are great. This is what makes RC great. Most of us are willing to go out of our way to help someone if we can. I have given parts away just to make sure someone could fly. You don't find this behavior very often in life. But go to the RC field. And people usually come out of the woodwork to help if they can. Your car breaks down on the highway people just drive by and stare at you while you have your thumb out. With RC, you stick your thumb out and the entire highway comes to a stop....

Trex helicopter head unt linkage setup the easy way

new video please give me your opinion
.
ALWAYS adjust the long one no matter what or your blades go out of track at high and low pitch. if you dont all you will hear is out of track blades while he is flying, but at hover they are fine
