I am now considering getting a TDR and I have one concern. What are the chances that I will be able to fit a ICE120HV on it, or will only the Jive 120 fit?

It would fit fine. Of course then you have to figure out a RX power source and there is no real place to put it I don't think.

Do you think I could use a Western Robotics Super Hercules BEC from the main power? Is there space to mount that?

Yes you can use the super herculer bec from western robotics. I use that on my MP-XLE running 12S.

His BEC? I have no doubt that it runs flawlessly. That BEC is pretty much the cat's meow in stand-alone BEC setups. Don't think about it too much really. Just pull out the plastic and get to work.

I would not trust it, 2 people i talked to in 1 week are on there 3rd 120HV ESC with minimal or no flight times. That says more than to me than anything.

Oh the ESC? I wouldn't put that POS within 10 feet of my Logo or TDR. But that's just me after having to ship piles of those things back for years. If it was my TDR, which it soon will be when my name comes up next month, I would use components worthy of a TDR. And CastleCremations just don't do it for me. But as always, best of luck to you with yours.

The bec; I have been using for about 2 years now. Started in my logo 600 before I bought a jive for it. Now the bec is in the henseleit. Be careful with the castle esc... I hope you will not be a victim of the fire. Some people have good luck with them and some dont. The Castle 120hv seems to be having more fires or problems; a lot of posts. I do use the castle with my smaller heli; heck I'm even using it on my logo 500. But that can be a risk....

I will be using the hobbywing 120hv with the vbar governor on my henseleit. Right now I have the castle HV85 on it just for testing but I don't have a lot of faith on it. However this unit has been with me for a while so more faith on it than a new unit.

For some reason Castle ESC for 6s setup are pretty decent. They aren't bad for the money considering there support is usually there as well. But for my "coming soon" TDR I'm going to have a jive 120 on it. It's expensive, but then again your buying the Ferrari of helicopters.

I would not risk vaporize a $4000 TDR trying to save $150 on CC ESC. IMO, that's not smart thinking

dxflyer, I hope you are not using the HV85 on 12S in the Henseleit. I had my share of pain with a smoking HV-85 on 12S with my Joker several years ago. So yes I wasn't thinking smartly then.

I'm pretty sure DX was at the event where my HV110 lit up in my hands in LA3D last year. He knows.

PS: DAMN that hurt!

Ok; I know I should not be using the hv85 castle but I did for about two weeks and luckily nothing got burnt (5 flights) I was taking it easy; however I was able to do some tic tacs and no shutdown. If I was to gather a guess maybe I have a model with the good fets on it.. But no more holding back now, I just received the hobbywing 120hv which I will hook up to the vbar governor... I will let everyone know how it turns out.

There is a new one coming to the Market. If they do make it like their Gyros I will buy one.
But I will not be the first one to try it.
