As the title states, are the logos with a flybar any good? Or should I def get the newer vbar head kit? I can get a 400 flybarred but not sure if I'm gonna be happy with it? Someone please speak out.

My Logo 500 had a flybar for a while, it is a great flying head! That being said, it is a bit better for me with the VBar setup I imagine that you will be happy with the flybar head, it is a great flying heli

But, if you do put the flybarless head on, you will most likely not want to go back, lol.

If you want a Logo 400 I'd go with the FBL head version. You get a lot better components like; cnc swash plate, cnc motor mount, and thrusted tail. The stock Logo 400 FB head kit is pretty basic (like composite swash, plastic motor mount, non-thrusted tail, and washout bushings).

You can upgrade the Logo 400 FB but it won't fly that much better (gets too heavy). Last year I converted my old FB'd Logo 10 3D to a Logo 400 and it was a dog to fly. Took it back to a Logo 10 3d and it flew much better.

I have never heard of anyone who flew a Logo 400 that preferred the FB over the FBL.

The current price of a FBL logo 400 kit is only $300 at readyheli, or $550 with V-bar. Pretty good value imho.

Hope this helps.

You should also note, that Mikado no longer sells kits with flybars. Their volume of FB'd kit sales sank so low, it wasn't worth it. Go to Ready Heli's site and check. You won't find a single Mikado kit offered with a FB head.

They have said parts support will continue, but we all know that the time will come when it will be hard to get FB head parts.

Every manufacturer is busting out new FBL kits as fast as they can, and all the major electronics companies are getting into the FBL market (as well as others who are trying to just do the FBL systems), so you may as well get on with it

I remember when we got our first Mikado V-Bar'd Logo 600 years past. I was told at the field I wasted my money, and that FBL was never going to amount to much. Of course, I also recall guys telling me my first heading hold gyro was a waste of money, as a rate gyro worked just fine

I flew a Logo 10 flybarred heli for a while. It was one of the best flying helis I have ever had and I have been flying helis for about 17 years.

Now with that being said... my Logo 600 V-Stabi is hands down the best machine I have ever flown.

But do mikado flybar heads do good? Definetly yes. They are not real quick, but fly superb.

As you know, my answer may be biased but the 500 has full size servos and has a much bigger presents in the air. I loved my 400 but all things equal if I had it to do over again Ida skipped the 400. The 500 can go from 500mm-over 600mm blades (w/ the right upgrades) its a much more flexible platform IMO

Do keep in mind that again, with the right parts, you can convert a 500 into a full blown 600SE swinging 690's. But the stack of parts you'd actually keep from the 500 would be small, it can still be done. So 400 or 500-690... hmmmm

The Logo 500 is what you want. When you want to go bigger, get the SE upgrade kit (it's only like $80). The Logo 500SE flies great on 6S. So there is no reason to upgrade batteries when you upgrade. Just get 5,000+mAh packs to start with. The 500SE floats like a 700E/90N on autos.

If you really want to start with a flybar'd Logo, I have a 500 flybar'd head I'd part with.

I flew it for the first year on my 500 and it was great. Then last year I decided to go with the flow and upgraded to V-Bar.

I would skip the flybar'd 400 kit. It's not so much the flybar, it's (as TomC stated) that there are several "must have" upgrades in the V-Bar version of the L400.

If you're not set on getting a Logo 400, the Logo 500 V-Bar would be an awesome choice.

Mine will be spinning off the winter cobwebs soon at Busse Woods and Pratt's Wayne if you feel like taking a short road trip.
