I have now about 50 flights on my Rave ENV Nitro since I switched to Vbar governor. It has been good all the way and as I am flying it harder now I was bogging the engine from time to time.
I never really bothered with that as it was just the matter of second.I always thought that reducing max pitch would reduce the pop so I lived with it until yesterday when I finally decided to activate that pitch reduction function (useless extra option for me untill then...).
So I put 20 % in the Vbar governor setting as pitch reduction value and went for a good hard flight (according to my skills...)
All I can say is the result was immediately amazing, I tried to bog the engine and never managed to do it. This system is really impressive. If the engine starts to bog a bit the Vbar reduces the collective to let the engine recover during the manoeuver.
The result is that the machine is much more contant in RPM and then everything becomes more easy and comfortable. The heli fells lighter in the air giving more confidence. The pitch reduction can not really be felt during flight as it is compensated by a great stability in Rpm.
This is a great function on a Nitro, I strongly recommend it.
I just wanted to share.
Is it me or this time the ground was higher than last time??
