Can anyone tell me if a Futaba GY611 gyro will work with analog
servos.

Page 2: Always use the special S9256 servo with the GY611. The GY611 cannot operate with servos other than the super narrow pulse (760µs) servo. The servo may be destroyed.
The 9251 is also compatible. I would venture to say that any gyro servo rated as listed above would be ok. I seriously doubt an analog servo would be.

It can be done but with an analog servo I wouldn't expect much out of the gyro.

The 601 and 611 gyro will smoke a analog or digital 1500 ms servo in fairly short order. I learned about smoking a standard servo the hard way

It will work with a 9251, 9256 and a BLS251 - all 760 ms and all spendy.

Then I discovered how to make it work with normal 1500ms servos. Do a RR search on "secret menu" and you will find a step by step procedure on how to set the gyro amplifier to use normal 1500 ms servos. Of course, performance goes down but it is doable and I have a couple running that way.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

I use the BLS-251 Servo with great results.

One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

If you get into the secret menu you can change the pulse width, and use it with any servo.

Having said that.

I would NOT recommend an analog servo with a GY611. If you go with an analog servo, sell the 611 and get an old gyro, They are cheap, and the end result will be the same.

For what it is worth, I have (6) 611 in my birds and they work great. I am not a 3d stick banger and have no issues. As a matter of fact, the nice thing is everyone is selling their 611's and 601's for cheap! They work great. Good luck to you.

If you get into the secret program on both the 601 and the 611 you can change the pulse width from narrow to wide and run any servo with it. This makes it a 502, which is essentially a 401 with a nice display.

Like Mike, I run them in all my scale helis with a 94758 fast servo but in todays 3D world that combo is well behind the times.

If only scale flying, pick up a GY401. It will work perfect and less cost.

Yes it will work.

I wouldn't cheap the servo in that case (large scale gasser) though. Get a 611/9256 there's good deals to be had.
