This is the new Blackhawk with toilet bowl exhaust,folding blades. folding whale tail, and folding vertical fin, this was explained to me. Go Army these guys are going back for the third time, God Bless them.

Cant really say I like the looks of the new exhaust outlets but I guess more effective for surface to air heat seeking missiles. Kinda looks like the Rooivalk exhaust.

looks like the "mike" model uh60. we have them here at rucker too. no toilet bowl exhausts thoug, i think thats only for birds going to afghanistan or iraq.

I worked on the Mike models in Iraq last year and didn't see any of those exhausts on the 60's there, the 64's had them though. The Mike has many features that are updates or standard individually on other years/models of -60's. Things such as the folding stab, reinforcing patches on the tail or belly skin, rotor brake, etc. However, all of the -60 models had that break between the tail pylon and tailboom, the difference there is the skin reinforcements and the new antenna location. I'm not surprised that the Army went to that style exhaust, the old one had a noticeable drag and fuel consumption penalty over the old style exhaust ejectors, it looks to be a similar setup but turned up into the rotor system now.

Me likey!

Oh, and we just have to get a fuselage manufacturer to put all the updates into a new mold instead of that 30 year old heli they modeled!
