After waiting for almost 8 months, I finally get the D3 into the air. I spent the first two tanks just hovering it to break in my YS91SR-3DS engine, and I am still in the process of breaking in. I can tell you that this machine is the state of the art. Everything has been well thought and engineered. Hirobo must have done a lot of research on it.

I am not sure if it is the YS engine or the SSZ-IV head or both, the D3 is extremely smooth and stable in hovering. The humble sound generated by the engine orchestrated with the SSZ-IV/710 Radix blades, making everything harmonized that I will never forget.

You may wonder why it took me 8 months to get it airborne. The reason being that I had to wait for Black Friday to get all the electronics, engine and pipe, and then winter came. I also have a very hard time starting up the engine without the right equipment.

Waiting for that 8 months is like waiting for a new born.

Nice

That is great news Rudy, for some time there I thought you might have gave up on it or had problems. Glad it all went well. Hope to see some pics when you get a chance.

Good Post, glad your liking it. I have never owned one, but I have flown a few and they are one of my favorite 90s to fly. Would love to get one someday. Congrats Rudy.

the d3 is super smooth with the os91hz motor
even flying my std freya and sdx50 the turbulence is so much more graceful in the way it flies

and at the weekend i'd got my d3 flyind at the same time as a raptor 60/90 conversion and all i could hear was the racket from the raptor

you'll enjoy your turbulence and it will bring a bigger smile to your face every time you fly it
