Hello everybody,

my Name is Jochen, I´m writing from Germany.
It´s really amazing how many people are flying the Hirobo Chinook here.
I´ve got one too, but it doesn´t fly (yet).
Yesterday was the first time the Chinook was started with blades. At almost full engine speed the front and rear blades collided with each other, somebody hit my knee with a big baseball bat and the front rotorhead was no longer there.
I think it was my fault. The rotorheads were no longer synchronous because the belttension was not tight enough.
But the rotorhead broke into parts and the blades ran away. One of them hit my knee (but my knee won).
My question: there is some kind of bubble in the head at the breakline.
Did anybody have the same problem? Did ever brake a Chinook head of one of yours Chinooks?

Greetings from Germany, Jochen

WOW!! How fast were the heads turning?? I have blasted the hirobo 3 blade heads into the ground and never seen one split in 2. Lucky it was just your knee and that it won not the blade. Very sorry to hear about both your knee and the helie, glad at least your knee won.

Hi,

the adjusted speed was 1600rpm.
In the breaking moment it was lower.
I think this head has got a fault.
Imho the bubble was a weak point of this head.
But if nobody else ever had this problem, I think I´ll not have to be afraid that it will occur again.

Head Problem..........

I have "cranked" mine in more then one time learning to time it and fly it and have had overspeeds and out of time once or twice and have not had any problem with a center hub breaking... I would be confident in telling you that it was an isolated problem.... and to TIGHTEN that belt!!!! Then get out there a fly it like you stole it!!!!! Good Luck....
