So I was chasing what I thought was a little needed engine tuning....during climb out the heli would hiccup and I would have to decrease pitch and it would recover. But, no needle changes helped...then I thought....maybe the oneway is slipping....and...

This is from the silver metal auto in my Xspec....is that an older oneway? Not sure why it broke...

I think a lot of people put in the upgraded auto hub with the stronger one way in it. MRC offered an upgrade prompotion a long time ago and there should be a few of these flying around. It will be bullet proof then. What you are seeing was a common problem with the original.

The bearings last longer for some guys than others. If you do a lot of auto bail-out's back into idle up or otherwise fly very aggressively, then the Hi-Torque EX auto hub solves the problem.

The old E3 414-309 auto hub is a halfway decent stop gap between what you have and the pricey Hi Torque hub. The bearing support inside is better, so they hold up pretty well.

Looking at it
So the hub assembly I have is all metal, yet mounting it to the main gear there are screws and washers through the gear into the hub, 414-309 seams to have a mounting ring that goes on top of the gear, sandwiching it to the auto hub. 414-309 also seams to be a plastic piece where the bearings mounts?

If you are interested I have both styles of autohubs for sale in the classifieds. Both are NIP.
