Hello Guys;

I am thinking of getting a Century Jet Ranger fuselage later this year for my Radikal G20 Lt G10. I would really prefer a Huey Uh-1B but not sure if I want to deal with the tail drive requirements. Unless someone has some tips to offer, and a brand of fuselage that they would recommend re: Huey.

The Radikal is my first helicopter, (no planks) lots of fun learning, but thought I would get into a fuselage like the Century line as it looks pretty straight forward, with the special bits for the G20.

I would like to hear from any one who has put a Century Heli Jet Ranger on a Radikal G20. I am most interested in knowing long long it would take to remove the fuselage for servicing the rear portion of the mechanics. Any close up detailed photos would be great if anyone has any. Thank-you for your time. Jon.... Peterborough.

My buddy Donnie is finishing up the test flight on his radikal for his jetranger fuse. I will get him to chime in.
the one done for the radikal is the same as the 60 size jetranger fuse but holes are predrilled for the radikal.

Radikal G20 & Century Jet Ranger FuselageProject

Hello Copter Doctor;

Thanks for writing, if Donnie can offer me a few tips, that would be really appreciated. I have to admit, I am still on training gear, just planning ahead. I figure it will take a long time to detail the fuselage, can do that as I continue to learn to fly.

Thank-you!
Jon........Peterborough

I will be starting my jet ranger build in about two weeks the body is on its way back from paint. I should have it by the end of the week. You can also see my Hughes 500D build which was recently completed.

Its the century fuselage for the radikal. I modifyed the gear that came with the kit. I machined extensions for the struts and made the steps out of .025 aluminum. It had a bad viberation when I installed it in the fuselage so I took the mechanics out and have been working on that. A couple more flights and it will be ready for the fuselage again.

that looks awsome! I saw it at B'Ham before you finished it and it looked good then.
regarding the vibration, is the top of the fuselage braced to the mechanics?

The kit came with a brace for the top of the fuselage and it was in. I tried it without the brace and vib was not as bad but still not within limits. I think I have it smooth enough to go back in now. gonna put a few more flights on first.

Scale tail boom adaptor??

Guys can one of you post a close up picture of the way that the tail adaptor and scale tail box look.I have contacted century but they emailed back today to say they do not sell the stepdown and scale tail box as a seperate item.I am slowly trying to scale my radikal into a bell 222.I thought century would want to sell these items to promote radikal scale helis.

Mine is in the fuselage now but if I remember correctly it is a swift gearbox. After about 5 flights in pod and boom the stock plastic one cracked just in front of the bearing. I replaced it with the metal gearbox and boca bearings. Take a look at Centurys web site and find the swift metal tr gearbox upgrade not very expensive and well worth the money.

Thats the one I used. You still need the adapter, if you know someone with a lathe it should not be hard to make an adapter or do what I did wait till u get the fuselage then convert the tail gearbox over and put a few more flights on it before you install it in the fuselage.
