Anyone running any of these items yet to get a report? Thanks

I read somewhere that someone crashed a metal blade grip one time and then bearings fell out.

Do you really want to weight it down?

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

I don't know, that's why I was asking. They show a weight for the grips but not the swash. I would just assume by looking at it that it would be heavier but question is how much? The stock swash just seems to have alot of play in it. Might give it a try here before too long anyway. We'll see.............

Rakonheli claims that their CNC parts are lighter than stock. The website shows them weighing the parts. Take that with a grain of salt. Anyway if I do go CNC it will prolly be with Rakonheli not saying anything except from personal experience but I'm not a big fan of microheli anymore.

The MicroHeli metal is so soft. I would like to try a metal swash if it didn't weight too much.

All the microheli stuff was in stock a few hours ago. Ordered the main shaft, swash and blade grips. Will probably take a couple weeks before it appears, but will post when I get the stuff

Finally got to install these and did a few test flights today.

All the parts are very light and have a nice finish. Even seems like they have used locktite on the link balls. Main gear is a tight fit on the main shaft and it will probably not slide down in minor crashes. Blade grips have three bearings in each grip, looks like bearings is same size as the original ones. Comes with two pair brass bushings, one for soft dampening and one for hard. Swash plate seems ok, no slop and very smooth.

Can't say that I notice a huge difference in the air but the blades tracks better and there are almost no vibratons - just a tiny blur on the tail fin the first few seconds of the flight before the rpms starts decreasing. I fly mainly 3D and use the non weighed blades and the hard dampenening. Before it would start to wobble before if I bogged it down or used too much cyclic, but the wobble seems to be more or less gone now. Cool stuff, but not essential

If it doesnt work, throw money at it...

Here is a couple of pics. I was lucky enough to land the parts as you may have noticed that the site is out of stock. I can see these as being the hot item. These are the parts from Rakon heli. They seem to be of good quality, and boy are they ever light. The parts are also very nicely finished. Only one problem when installing the parts. The rotorhead hole for the Jesus screw is a little small and the screw is so soft that I twisted the screw off. But not before I managed to get some of the screw into the shaft. So I added a small drop of ca to the shaft(still the stock carbon one), this took out the play that was in the shaft. As far as flight performance I noticed it Really smoothed out this little heli. No vibration and control input was very very smooth and percise. All the slop is taken out of the head and swashplate. I'm very happy with the performance.
One other thing I did with this little guy is lengthen the tail boom One inch, using 2mm carbon rod. This seemed to lock the tail in and doesn't seem to get kicked out as easily. All in all I'm very happy with the results.

Not a necessary peformance mod, but then again why not, helps make it a little more interesting. Flavor of the week. These little things are addictive. I fly it two doors down infront of the livingroom window, it drives their cat nuts.[size=small]

I didn't weigh mine before but with Rakon Heli swash plate, head block and grips it weighs 44 grams. The stock weight shows 45.5 grams. Has anyone weighed their stock one? Flight has a more solid feel to it. Chuck

cwright,

I just got my Rakon heli swash in myself. Was yours very tight on the main shaft. I'm scared to try mine because it fits very tight and doesn't slide freely up and down. Did you have to do anything to yours? Thoughts?

No my swash was fine. As stated above I had the same problem with the way the head block was drilled. The hole is drilled higher in the metal head block then the stock one. What I did was rotate head 90 degrees from where it normally would go. Then with the throttle in hold I went to have stick and pushed the head down to get zero pitch. I then drilled a new hole for the screw. It flew great with no trims required. You may want to try some 800 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the main shaft. You don't want any drag. Chuck
