standard DSM is long obsolete. It is what was used with the original DX6 and AR6000 receiver.

There are no DX7's with DSM. All DX7's came with DSM2.
Nothing on the market today uses DSM, however, current DSM2 systems are backwards compatible with the AR6000 rx. It's all DSM2 or the new DSMx

The DSM2 DX7's revert to DSM mode if the Rx does not instruct otherwise.

DSM is a short distance protocol (commonly referred to as Park Flier).

Those DX7s which have been converted to DSMX also support DSM2 but do not in any way support DSM.

DSM protocol has long been considered obsolete and the Rxs have been out of production for some time.
