Just tried SAB 280mm baldes on what was HBK. No, does not work for me - too flexible, way out of track. On the contrary stock CF 275mm blades are just perfect - tracking very well.

That's too bad. There just aren't that many CP blade options in this size. I have the Heli-Max 275mm blades which have worked quite well, all things considered. Bought them years ago and can't find them now so I'd really hate to crash them.

Was this the SAB blade you are running? Those things are sure expensive.

I had Heli-Max blades long time ago and I crashed them. They were good as I remember.

As for SAB blades I cannot find them any more, but they are white with a bit of CF strip near the root. Like this:

I use SAB 425 blaades on Protos (white and red - old design) and they are fine.

I also had good success with cut-down Align 325mm wood blades. Although it always made me nervious to run them above 2800, they worked well for me. Love the white blades with red accent. In the air it looks like the head is bleeding.

I wouldn't mind trying the SAB blades. But at $54 a set, that's more than I'd spend on a set of blades for my 500. Hard to justify that unless I loved the HBKX.

I like the Maverik pro G5 series wide chord smooth crisp and a good price. Get them from heliproz.com problem is 325mm is the smallest. I had a set of 500mm sab they were fine but they were like first generation the material just seemed odd not sure what they were made of. So I am not much help on the sab sorry.

But Maverik are great blades!!!

Not sure what head your using but I had 292mm on a king CF blades ESKY CNC head just ate the dampeners and lost tracking. I just assumed the rotor disk was to much for the head. Not sure.

No Really I am the club President!!!

Wide cord G5s would probably work pretty well if they had the right size. But you are correct, the dampers are pretty small by today's standards. Mostly driven by the higher headspeeds that are possible with modern packs and motors. We have to remember that in its stock form the HBK2 was probably only spinning at 2400-2600. So those tiny rubber doughnuts would have been fine.
