Hi,
For all you pros out there, I need your help in deciding what camera and lens to buy?
I am looking at still photographs and HD video, so my first question is should I buy a still camera and a separate video camera, or a DSLR that does both? I am looking at full HD not 720. Budget is of importance, but at the same time I'm not looking at replacing anything for the next 2-3 years, unless of course I have the spare dosh. I like the DOF on DSLR's and the advantage of using different lenses.
I would also use the same camera for other still and video projects on ground, indoors and on location.
I have seen the Canon DSLR models 1D, 5D, 60D, 7D and also the Nikon D7000, but I am open to any other models out there.
Thanks for reading, and looking out for replies.

Well as long as you're flying a bird that will support the weight you want to carry, it kinda comes down to personal preference and the goals you seek. I fly a t2I with a 10-22 lens and love it. Some folks have a nice digital camera and also use a seperate video camera. I prefer the DSLR because it's just one piece to work into your vibration/mount tuning/CG issues and not two. Now if you go dslr, you have the whole Canon/Nikon debate. I'm a Canon guy who loves the fact of the hacked software on a Canon with CHDK.

Canon cameras can be "hacked" to do things not available in the normal setups. Example here.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I always buy my digital camera based on the CHDK hack. For still I use a S95 and CHDK works fantastic.

http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_User_Manual

For my T2i, I have the hack from Magic Lantern because they haven't finished the CHDK hack.

http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/550D/UserGuide

The magic Lantern for T2i is more for video which changes the video capability dramatically.

Just finished 'Hacking' my canon SX130Is to run an intervolometer. Now I can do away with the clumsy servo shutter release.
