Okay, watched Mr Mels vids and set up my Jive / Vbar equipped Trex 500 FBL...Here's the story...Sorry it's long, but I feel I need to provide some details.

Had a minor crash because the antenna in my transmitter was not connected to the board (yes, did not do a range check..DOH).. Heli drifted low level about 1' off the ground for about 100-200 feet and tipped over.. Upon reaching the heli, the motor was running and the main gear was missing teeth so the motor just spun...

We bound my receiver to another person's radio to rule out the heli's onboard equipment after the crash...

After repairing the heli, and rebinding my radio, the motor was doing some odd things acting erratic and cutting out followed by the jive's LED blinking 8 times.. I thought perhaps I damaged the motor (Hyperion 3026-1600).. I hooked up my ATOM 500 motor and it behaved erratic as well (although no cutting out).. So...I reprogram the Jive (mode 1 and 4) again per Mr Mel's video...It took about 4 attempts to get the Jive set..??? (after setting mode 1 and 4, I put the throttle at half stick so that it could be lowered to see where the jive was going to arm, but the motor would arm and run instantly when the battery was connected.. I finally get the Jive set up and now everything runs normal.. Motor operates normal, and jive is no longer flashing>>>>

Any idea's as to what is going on or what may have happened? Could the process of binding someone else's transmitter caused the the Jive's settings to be upset?

Thanks!

more to the story

So.. I get the Jive reprogrammed and everything is working fine on the bench.. I'm doing some run ups trying to track down a tail vibration on the bench... All is fine for quite some time then the motor fails to accelerate past a slow idle. Battery is fully charged but doesn't make any difference.

I reprogram mode 1 and 4 again and now it's working fine again...

What is going on here?

Thx....

First issue;
You needed to reset (Mode 1/4) with radio at 0-100 throttle curve again, chances are that your signal was unstable first time.

Second issue (spoolup instantly)
Probably because you did the reset with not 0-100, for sample throttle hold being lower etc.

Third issue;
Wont go past idle RPM
Known issue sometimes with v7 (I think), you need to do an reset (Mode 1/4)
Upgrading to v9 will fix that.

Remember to verify in monitor that you have a 0-100 curve before doing any Mode 1, it's when you do the mode 1 it learns where your endpoints are.

Thx

Thx for the reply! However, I did set it with throttle curve at 0-100 and everything was working fine, it seems like the Jive lost it's programming while I was running the model on the bench..

yes, the "wont go past idle" is a crash in the internal parameters (as far as I know).

Ok..

Perhaps operator error??? I was hooking up the spare motor without doing another jive set up.. The 2nd time I reset the jive, I did not set the travel adjust to 100% and left them at 82%.. Maybe all this contributed to the issue...

Got it re-set up and seems to be operating normally...

Thx!

Yep, that will do it as it adds new "buffer" at each reset.
All sorted now then.
