well one thing is there heavier

this is from ChrisH
The blades need to be balanced chord-wise. In other words, FBL machines usually like the blades to be balanced along where the hole in the root is.

the are not really heavier its more like the CG is different. on fbl. the weight is in the tips of the blades. and with fb blades it is in the core. With fbl. it is a very unstable system and with the weight on the tips it helps it be more stable

Some systems are more dependent on the types of blades used. VBAR is pretty forgiving on what types you use.......Ron

I was told the c of g was more to the front edge of the blade as well. I was also told that normal blades can work the system harder, so more current draw by the servos.

Anyone care to confirm this

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

The biggest dif is if you hang them both (set of FBL blades) from the bolt hole they with hang strate down (parallel) with each other so yes the FBL blades have the CofG more to the front edge of the blade that means the weight is over all more forwards along the blade chord-wise and NOT at the tips AND at least on a 450 size blades the FBL blades vs FB blades the FBL blades are ALWAYS heavier and it doesn't make any dif what brand they are the FBL blades are ALWAYS heavier over all ! dif brands have dif shapes (airfoil) but that has less to do with FBL vs FB and more to do with manufacture preference.
