hi, All..

Been helping a friend with an mCPx...He's a beginner, learning well so far with Msr, but the cpx is a bit much for him right now...Long story short, after numerous crashes the tail rotor esc decided to go up in smoke...Horizon sent him a new board, he rebuilt the heli...I looked at it today, and in hold the swash moves normally, as do all control inputs..When we go to spool up in normal, the motors both start normally, but the swash goes hard forward and left as the throttle is advanced....His DX 7 is set up exactly like mine, which flys normally....I would suspicion mixes, but none are active...Any thoughts appreciated...

TIA...

John.

fwiw.ving the servo mecha.

Back again....Worked on this issue this PM....Found the pich servo mount scrws slightly loose...Servo could move in its mount...Tightened mount screws...

Still had the issue...Thought about it a bit...Only happening under power, meaning vibrations in airframe....Read about a possible cure on the other site, involving the brushes on the potentiometer being dirty...Got out the magnifiers, followed the posted instructions for removing the servo mechanics from the PC board...(them screws are TINY!!)
After removing the mechanics, it was obvious the lands for the linear pot were very dirty...Used a Q-tip and contact cleaner on the lands and brushes, reassembled...And...BINGO!...lifts off nice and straight, and flys well...
I also took the step of slightly bending the brush assembly out to make a better contact with the lands...Seemed to all work well, but this is microsurgery...Tiny tools and magnifiers a must for this old geezer...But it's quite easy to do once you see how the assembly works...

Hope this helps, and hats off to the freaky poster who discovered this issue....

John.
