So I split my tail boom near the root where it goes into the frame.
I went to the hobby shop and found a 3 foot section of carbon tubing labeled "thick walled" that was the EXACT dimensions (inner and outer) as the broken boom.
The tail boom is exactly 125mm long.
Dremmel off a piece that long (DO NOT breath in the dust!!!).
Now tape it to a ruler and make a 5mm long flat spot on the ends. Both sides. Not too deep. Maybe taper it, to get snug as it goes in.
Use the ruler as reference to keep the flat the same plane on both ends, because this is what keeps the orientation of your tail fin vertical.
Note, you can add a little (really just a dab) of epoxy near the flat spots as filler to keep the boom snug in case your flats were too low.
Now just cut the old wires near the connector.
Slip them through your new boom.
The green wire goes on the green marked side of the connector. Scrape some of the resin coating to expose the wires before soldering.
Solder, shrink wrap, enjoy!
