With all the problems that have been reported with this radio including mine I thought I'd report some positive news about the DX8.
Flew my 700 for the first time in a few weeks today. I got an alarm that it was too hot ( 235ºF is where I have it set at) - sure enough it didn't sound right either. richgened it up a fair amount. a few minutes later same thing. 3rd time I decided to actually take a look at what is going on. hooked up a fuel pump and pulled some fuel from the tank. It was pulling a LOT of air. I've done something wrong inside the tank. Don't know what yet, not really the point.
The DX8 saved me from cooking this engine. Bonus, it gave me the confidence to fly with my LiFe pack knowing the alarm will buzz/beep if the voltage gets below 6.2V (I think I have it set there). I know that's a pretty good setting because I can get the radio to briefly alarm low voltage if I really hammer the sticks on the bench if I haven't charged the LiFe in a while.
